Queen's Redoubt Trust

Queen's Redoubt is a military fortification in Pokeno. It was build in 1862 and played a pivotal role during the New Zealand Wars, a seminal event in New Zealand History. The Queen's Redoubt Trust has reconstructed the redoubt earthworks and have built a visitor - Education centre with informative displays that impartially tell the story of the Wars with particular focus on the invasion of the Waikato and its consequences.
