Our Mission Driving transformational change that improves inclusion, belonging and wellbeing for refugee-background and migrant communities. Belong Aotearoa is a non-profit, systems change organisation for refugee-background and migrant communities. We work to address systemic barriers to settlement for people from migrant and former-refugee backgrounds in Aotearoa New Zealand. Only transformative change will remove these barriers that discriminate and isolate communities from opportunities for inclusion and wellbeing. Belong Aotearoa has been working alongside communities and collaborating with others in Tāmaki Makaurau and across Aotearoa for two decades to help raise awareness, create, and implement solutions, and drive transformative change that is sustainable, addressing those prevalent barriers upstream and downstream. We have recently reset our strategic approach as a systems change organisation, that sees a refreshed organisational structure in place, and with that, some long-standing trustees are reaching the end of their term as Board members for Belong Aotearoa.
