Wild About The Grampians

Wild About The Grampians is a small group of volunteers who work together to restore the forest health and biodiversity in our adopted area of the Grampians, by removing invasive weed species and replanting in native species . We work in the area around the lower sections of the Tawa Track and in the forested areas above Fairfield House, to promote and enhance biodiversity. The group has been working since October 2021. When: Tuesday mornings, from 9am. Some people come every week and others come when they can, we are happy with any contribution of time volunteers are able to give. Where: We usually meet at the top of Endeavour Street, at the entrance to the Tawa Track, but our location is confirmed Monday afternoon, (via our Whats App group), as it does vary. What to bring: If you have gardening gloves and a weeding tool please bring these, but we are able to provide gloves and tools also. We are part of the Nelson City Council Adopt-a-Spot programme.
