Pirate City Rollers

The Pirate City Rollers became an apprentice member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association in 2011 – the first New Zealand league to do so. They were the first NZ league to graduate to full membership in September 2013. In 2017 PCR made history, yet again, and became the first NZ team to qualify for the Div 2 playoffs in the USA. Fast Forward to now, Pirate City Rollers is the longest running league in Aotearoa. Our league not only fosters a love for roller derby but also serves as a platform for personal growth, teamwork, and resilience. At the heart of our success lies the dedicated sub-committee responsible for planning and organizing the league's vibrant array of events. Comprising of passionate individuals who eat, sleep, and breathe roller derby, this committee is the driving force behind our games, events, open days, and beginner courses. Our open days provide a welcoming space for newcomers to experience the exhilaration of roller derby first-hand. The sub-committee orchestrates these events with precision, ensuring that everyone, regardless of skill level or background, feels embraced by the Pirate City Rollers family. Moreover, the beginner courses offered by our league serve as a gateway for aspiring skaters to learn the ropes of roller derby. The sub-committee works tirelessly to create structured and supportive training programs that empower individuals to discover their potential on wheels. As we strive to expand our reach and impact, your support will enable Pirate City Rollers to continue fostering a sense of community, athleticism, and empowerment. Join us in our mission to make roller derby accessible to all and to continue providing a space where individuals can grow, learn, and thrive.
