Hearing Nelson has supported the community for over 70 years. Our Vision is "Hearing for Life" and Mission "To improve the lives of those who are Hard of Hearing and/or Deaf and prevent hearing loss." At Hearing House, we are available to provide neutral advice and support to people. Our field workers support residents in rest homes across Nelson, Tasman/Golden Bay with hearing aid cleaning, carer training on communication techniques and care of aids. Members of our Association receive free hearing aid cleaning and high-quality discounted supplies and amplification devices. We offer home visits for people who also have mobility restrictions. Hearing Nelson provides education in schools and to community groups about sign language and hearing loss prevention with our Dangerous Decibels programme.
