A small group of volunteers works together to run the Whangarei Maritime Festival over the weekend of 12th and 13th of October 2024. The festival celebrates the maritime world in all aspects. This year's festival offers plenty of fun for all ages. From steamboats to naval vessel - over 30 boats will be on display in Whangārei's Town Basin. There will be maritime talks at the Hundertwasser Arts Centre and interactive demonstrations on the festival area at Pūtahi Park. Kids can try their hand at boat building or traditional Japanese fish painting at the festival lake.
