The Sculpture Park and Waitakaruru is a unique setting where art and nature live together in a maturing woodland garden and ambitious rehabilitation project. See our website for full info: https://www.sculpturepark.co.nz/ The Park is 17.5 ha and is managed and maintained by a charitable trust. we have a permanent staff of the Head Gardener and one part time gardener, Event and Reception Manager and a part time Arts Administrator. The site was an abandoned hard-rock quarry that stood out like a sore thumb in the beautiful rolling Waikato countryside. Over the last 30 plus years the derelict landscape has been transformed into an exciting arboretum showing trees from all around the world. The park has more than 100 sculptures integrated into the the landscape that includes streams, ponds, cliffs and steep hills. A two kilometre walk winds its way through the park ensuring the visitor beatiful views and access to shady trees and shrubs.
