Vision: For an Aotearoa New Zealand where newcomers thrive in local communities. Mission: To partner with communities and newcomers to build connection, belonging, and kotahitanga (unity). What we do: HOST works alongside people from refugee and migrant backgrounds and communities across Aotearoa New Zealand to strengthen individual wellbeing, community inclusion and systems change. We develop and deliver programmes that support settlement, employment and community connection; build the capability of communities and organisations; and work to identify and break down barriers that prevent newcomers from participating, belonging and thriving. Our approach: People, communities and lived experience are at the heart of our work, grounded in partnership, co-design, innovation and rangatiratanga (self-agency).
