Do You Have The Passion To Make a Difference In Your Community? Are you a keyboard warrior? or some one who is prepared to stand up and help make change to trending issues in your community? You cannot fix a lot from the comfort of your home. Special people make things happen when the Mahi comes from within. Talking about issues we face in the community is important but working to provide and be part of the solution is where your input is needed. Community Patrols in New Zealand are made up of everyday people who volunteer their time to help build safer resilient communities while working in partnership with the NZ Police and other organizations. While we do not confront offenders our volunteers act as extra "eyes and ears" of the Police and our community, by observing and reporting any suspicious activities or incidents requiring immediate attention or providing a heads up to possible criminal activity or disorder. We are currently seeking new members to join us as and become the backbone and future of Community Patrols going forward. We are looking to a new generation of younger Community Patrol volunteers. Whether you're ex Police, a seasoned professional, a parent, or someone eager to contribute, we want you on our team! Are you the one who will make a positive change to issues faced within the community now and in the future? To become a trusted partner of Police you must undergo the Police vetting process and complete a minimum three-month training period. After vetting and prior to your first patrol applicants will need to undertake and complete CPNZ online training and participate in local induction training. When this training is completed you will be able to continue training while on patrol alongside experienced senior patrollers. All Patrollers need the ability to communicate efficiently with our Police partners, it is a vital part of our work. You must be confident in the use of electronic devices such as a Police radio. I-pad, I-Phone and also be able to communicate using email, WhatsApp and txt as important information is communicated through these media devices and apps.
