Te Puawaitanga Women's Organisation is a dedicated non-profit that focuses on empowering and supporting women in various aspects of their lives. With a mission to foster inclusivity and break gender stereotypes, the organization is committed to organizing events that promote women's participation in traditionally male-dominated activities. One of their exciting initiatives is the upcoming Auckland Women's Skateboarding Competition/Festival. The Auckland Women's Skateboarding Competition/Festival, in collaboration with Te Puawaitanga, aims to inspire and encourage girls to venture into the dynamic world of skateboarding. Recognizing the importance of breaking barriers in sports, this event seeks to challenge stereotypes surrounding gender roles in physical activities. By promoting female participation in the traditionally male-dominated sport of skateboarding, the festival aspires to create a platform for women to showcase their skills, build confidence, and foster a sense of community. To amplify the impact of this event, all earnings generated from The Auckland Women's Skateboarding Competition/Festival will be channeled towards supporting other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or directly benefit The Auckland Women's Support Centre. This commitment underscores Te Puawaitanga's broader mission of contributing to the welfare and empowerment of women not only through direct initiatives but also by supporting related causes within the community.
