Richmond Community Garden is located at 46a Vogel Street on the edge of the River Road Red Zone. For a few years, this mixed community garden has been neglected, The Earthquake in 2011 meant that the local community halved and volunteers moved away or no longer had any interest in maintaining it. We believe with a well-established community garden, will help those in need in our community, (we are looking at selling the extra produce to raise funds) it will bring a community on the edge of the red zone new life, it will give an interest to those who wish to help. Over time we are looking to run classes to teach people who want to learn more about horticulture or gardening. We welcome volunteers to help create a beautiful veggie garden for our community to enjoy.
