Whirinaki Whare Taonga is Upper Hutt’s flagship arts centre where visitors can enjoy art, culture, history and entertainment. Five fabulous galleries have a constantly changing programme of exhibitions with a special focus on interactive experiences and family friendly activities. The venue also includes a 200-seat theatre, café, and 990 m2 recreation hall for large events. It’s the hub for audience engagement and participation in the arts for Upper Hutt with a varied programme of concerts, special events, workshops, artist talks, education classes, and community activities which vary throughout the year.
