Upper Hutt Repair Café Trust runs regular Repair Café events in Upper Hutt, where dedicated volunteers share their skills and repair expertise. The aim is to divert fixable items from landfill through repair education- teaching what can be repaired, what parts are needed, what repair expert is needed and wherever possible, the public are encouraged to bring in and learn to repair their own items with volunteer assistance. When items cannot be repaired, volunteers can advise alternatives to landfill and responsible recycling options.
