The Whitireia Foundation is a volunteer-run charitable trust, established in 1999. Our trustees all reside in Porirua and are responsible for managing and growing the Foundation's scholarship fund, which today sits at close to $400,000. Our mission is to expand educational opportunities for all. Most of the Foundation's scholarships provide financial assistance for tuition fees. New for 2015, in addition to a financial (or equivalent) award, are paid work experience opportunities. Apprenticeships may follow for promising students completing their work experience. With around $100,000 awarded in scholarships each year, the Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of all our sponsors, many who have supported Whitireia and the Foundation for a number of years.
