The Postnatal Depression Family/Whanau NZ Trust was created in 2007 by a group of concerned medical professionals and parents who had themselves been affected by anxiety, depression and other issues related to a decline in perinatal mental wellbeing. In 2020 we changed our operating name from PND Canterbury to Perinatal Wellbeing Canterbury. The key community needs from our purpose on which we intend to focus our energy and resources over the next three years are: - support and assistance to parents and whanau with perinatal mental wellbeing issues - early intervention and preventative services - public awareness Vision Our vision for our community is Mentally Healthy Parents. Mission Our mission is to encourage and grow the mental wellbeing of parents and whanau during the first 1,000 days. Values Manaaki - respect and aroha for each other Stronger Together - sharing and growing from lived experience Integrity - in all we do Client Group Parents who are experiencing a decline in mental wellbeing relating to, or resulting from, pregnancy, childbirth and parenting within the first 1,000 days (Pregnancy to 3 years).
