Outdoor programme support volunteer, weekdays

Recreation Long Term Canterbury

About this opportunity

Learn Active runs outdoor education programmes for young adults with intellectual disabilities.
We are specifically looking for friendly, patient, active and flexible people to help support our students while out adventuring on our programmes during term time on weekdays.
Term 1, 2019 is a water based programme but no skills are needed in this area, just an interest in the outdoors and special needs as the Learn Active staff will be running the skills side of things.
Hours will be 8.30am-4pm starting and finishing at 151 Cashmere Rd.
We prefer our volunteers to be available on the same day each week for the term (10 weeks) as we have the same students each week, and this gives them consistency and allows volunteers to get to know everyone well.
This role starts at the end of January, from Monday 28th January. Trial days are available.
We are looking for inquiries for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We run programmes 5-6 days per week, including weekends, holidays and overnight trips. So feel free to inquire if you are not sure of your availability or it does not meet these requirements as we may have other dates for you.

Additional requirements

Over 16 years old

* May be arranged via the Organisation. Details to be provided on expression of interest.
Time Required

We would prefer someone consistent each week for atleast one term (10 weeks) but will consider shorter or longer blocks.
