Retail Volunteers

Harbour Hospice North Shore is a charity providing free, compassionate and specialist care to people who are dying and their families. We offer community based care in people's own homes or at our Inpatient Units in Takapuna and Hospice Hibiscus/Whangaparaoa. Hospice Shops are an essential source of funds for the service and our Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. In fact, we couldn't do it without them.
Come and join one of our teams! You don't need specific retail experience as we will provide you with training and support, but you will need • An interest in providing customer service & a friendly smile • Or an interest in working in our sorting room, receiving and preparing goods for the shop floor • A flexible attitude & the willingness to work as part of a team doing a variety of tasks • To be able to work independently at times • To be reliable and commit to a regular 3-4 hour shift, (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) • Good spoken English skills or a willingness to try • To be at least 14 years old
There are a variety of tasks that need to be done in our shops including receiving or sorting donations, preparing them for sale, keeping the shop clean and tidy, assisting customers and cash handling too. There is light lifting and you may be on your feet for a reasonable amount of time. Our Shop Managers are there to assist and guide you.
Our teams are friendly and welcoming and you'll get great experience while supporting your community. You'll work with a diverse range of people doing purposeful meaningful work and very importantly, supporting Hospice in its’ work.
We have shifts available Monday to Saturday, morning or afternoon at 10 different shops across the North Shore. Give us a call, we'd love to talk to you - 09 486 1688 or Mandy on 021 527 912
