The Hawke's Bay Knowledge Bank digitally records written, oral, pictorial history donated /loaned to us to preserve, digitally store and make available on our website to assist people researching Hawke's Bay history.

Volunteer jobs include: Oral recording and editing

We are currently looking for an individual to help with our audio editing and transcribing. Some basic understanding of audacity or other sound editing program is wanted, OR a willing attitude on learning is necessary.
This opportunity will involve editing oral interviews that consist of a recollection from various individuals historical events throughout Hawke's Bay

The Knowledge Bank is run by volunteers passionate about preserving Hawke's Bay history. We reside at Stoneycroft, built in 1875 and owned by early Hawke's Bay settlers.. It is a place where present and past Hawke's Bay people can bring/send items of family history, cultural and sporting history or the story of your firm or club. Everything is of interest to the wider community and we will preserve it digitally for the future.

Time Required

Monday - Friday 10am - 4.30pm. We work with you; any number of hours will do. You decide.
