To assist the shop manager in the day-to-day activities of running an op shop while representing the St Vincent de Paul Society and the good work we do in the Wellington Area.
KEY TASKS 1. To keep the shop tidy by maintaining displays, hanging up clothing, sorting bric-a-brac and vacuuming.
To help sort new/incoming donations in an orderly manner.
To offer great customer service to everyone in the op shop.
To manage the till and Eftpos machines after initial training period.
To represent the St Vincent de Paul Society well as an organisation, which offers a hand up to those in need. (Referrals of anyone in need should be made to the Newtown office)
SKILLS REQUIRED 1. Good communication skills and great customer service skills
Basic cleaning and tidying skills
Some degree of maths skills to ensure each transaction is correct and to be able to operate the till and Eftpos machines.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES 1. A passion to be involved with one of Wellington’s oldest charities, and a great desire to give back to the community by helping those in need.
The ability to communicate easily with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
