ROLE OVERVIEW:

Youthmix is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Grant Writer to help us secure funding that supports our mission. This is a vital volunteer role where you'll play a key part in researching and writing compelling grant applications to government agencies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies. Your work will directly contribute to the sustainability and growth of our programmes and initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Researching and identifying grant opportunities that align with Youthmix’s goals and activities.
  • Writing persuasive and tailored grant applications, proposals, and supporting documents.
  • Collaborating with the Executive Team to gather relevant information and project data.
  • Maintaining a calendar of application deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Tracking submitted applications and assisting with follow-up communication.
  • Supporting the development of funding strategies and helping improve our funding success rate.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different funders.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field is a plus – but not essential.
  • Familiarity with non-profit or charity environments is desirable.
