Being an active member of a community involves giving to others. There’s no better way to do that than by being an active part of the largest humanitarian organisation in the world.

Role Description

When you join with us as a member, you can get involved in/be a part of:

  • Supporting events and community programmes;
  • Helping to create awareness in the community of Red Cross engagement on: disaster readiness and response; Meals on Wheels, Curtain Bank, fundraising for NZRC activities and support for international programmes,
  • The opportunity to contribute your unique skills and to develop new ones, to gain experience and meet new people

Your Tasks

A Branch Treasurer makes sure that their Branch manages its money properly. They work closely with the Branch President and Secretary. In particular, they are responsible for:

  • understanding and complying with the financial management requirements
  • applying the required accounting standards with support from their Area Council
  • applying the requirements for bank accounts where their Branch operates one

Volunteer Requirements

  • Please submit a brief bio outlining your past or current experience as well as completing the online Membership application.
  • 18+ years old
  • A good communicator
  • Able to commit to your team for at least 12 months
  • Able to pass New Zealand Police Check (support Services Child/youth)
  • Able to provide 2 referees for character check
