Youthline Wellington is a "with youth, for youth" organisation that supports young people throughout the greater Wellington region. We have supported youth aged 12-24 years for over 50 years. We offer a free Helpline service (text, phone, webchat & email), youth development and mental health peer support programmes for schools and communities to help people grow and develop.

And we need your help!

The Group Supervisor is part of a team of Group Supervisors who provide supervision to the helpline counsellors. This supervision includes providing emotional support and encouragement and assisting in developing skills and practice to provide a quality service to Youthline clients whilst adhering to the appropriate Youthline ethical and practice standards.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will: *have completed 12 months as a solo helpline counsellor with Youthline Wellington, or be able to demonstrate the equivalent / relevant experience (e.g. youth work / mental health worker) *have experience in counselling and/or providing supervision *be able demonstrate how they've worked in adherence to established ethical guidelines and/or professional standards/ policies and procedures. *be skilled in organising and facilitating groups *be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage with a wide range of personalities. *be able to demonstrate a commitment to professional development. *have experience using strengths-based practices when working with young people
