Are you passionate about early childhood development and community building? Join the Whanau Awhina Plunket Small World Playgroup as a volunteer and be part of a supportive, collaborative team that creates a warm and engaging environment for both children and parents.
About the Playgroup: Small World Playgroup provides a safe, fun space for children aged 0 to 4 years old to explore, learn, and grow. It meets every Friday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am. As a volunteer, you will help facilitate play, provide a nurturing environment, and play a key role in building community by engaging with parents and helping them connect with each other.
Duties:
- Collaborate with a supportive team to set up engaging activities and materials for the children.
- Engage with parents making them feel welcomed and valued.
- Encourage parents to connect with each other, fostering a sense of community among families.
- Support the children as they engage in play and learning activities, offering guidance and encouragement.
- Assist with set-up before and clean-up after the session.
What We Are Looking For:
- A warm, approachable attitude and a genuine interest in engaging with both children and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively, and supportively with the team to create a fun, inclusive environment.
- Enthusiasm for supporting parents and encouraging them to engage with each other and build connections.
- Volunteers will need to undergo a police check.
Whether you are a parent, a community member, or someone who enjoys supporting others, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, create meaningful connections, and help children and parents thrive together.
