Ronald McDonald House Auckland is a ‘home away from home’ for families from all over New Zealand whose children require specialist medical treatment at Starship Hospital, which isn’t available at their local hospital.

We desperately need volunteers to help support our Housekeeping team with general cleaning tasks (laundry, restocking, general kitchen tidying) for various shifts throughout the week. Your support helps to maintain our cleanliness levels that are set at our Houses and ensures our families have a comfortable, safe and homely environment to stay in.

ABOUT YOU We need people who are reliable and willing to muck in wherever is needed. You will be respectful of the fact that you are in someone’s house and greet everyone with a smile, knowing that you are contributing to making families stay as comfortable as possible.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS Monday – Sunday: 10am – 1pm Most volunteers commit to a 3 hour weekly or fortnightly shift.

KEY TASKS Tasks will vary from day to day but some of the things you might be expected to help out with include:

  • General cleaning and tidying
  • Wiping down tables and chairs
  • Wiping window sills and skirting boards
  • Vacuuming hallways
  • Wiping balustrades
  • Assisting Housekeepers to put clean towels into rooms
  • Vacuuming shared areas
  • Folding clean laundry
  • Sorting and cleaning drawers and cupboards in kitchen
