The World Choir Games are coming to Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau in July 2024! Please apply to register your interest to volunteer. Some important information regarding the event and the volunteer programme:

• The World Choir Games runs from 10 to 20 July, with volunteer shifts likely to be available every day during the day and evenings.

• Volunteers will be asked to sign up to a minimum of 5 shifts across the Games. Each shift will be between 4 and 8 hours long.

• Volunteer shifts are likely to take place at one of the 10 competition or concert venues within the Auckland CBD.

• Volunteers will also play a huge role at each of the showpiece events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as the Parade of Nations.

There will be two main types of volunteer roles available:

• Choir Liaison Volunteer: This role will be the local support for each of the 300+ choirs participating in the Games. Choir Liaison Volunteers will support the movement of choirs around the city, assist with translation and local knowledge. They will also be the key point of contact between the Games organisers and the choirs.

• Event Volunteer: This is a broader, more generic volunteer role which will ensure the smooth running of the World Choir Games. Responsibilities could include meeting and greeting choirs as they arrive at airports and venues, as well as ensuring the smooth running of backstage areas during competition. There may also be some specialists volunteer roles available within the marketing, media and operations work areas.

• All volunteers will be provided with food and drink during their shifts, as well as a unique World Choir Games 2024 uniform.

• You will also get to be involved in a once-in-a-lifetime extravaganza of choral music from around the world right here in Aotearoa New Zealand
