We run a volunteer ambassador program to welcome passengers disembarking the cruise ships, which will soon return for another season. Having successfully operated this program for over a decade, it’s time to get the WCA’s (Wellington City Ambassadors) back out there for another exciting season.

About the role:

WCA’s are placed at key locations around the city when the ships dock. You could be at the Cable Car, the isite, a shuttle stop, or roving around helping visitors along the way.

As a friendly face welcoming our visitors, you will assist with wayfinding, offer recommendations for the best places to visit, eat, drink coffee and shop! Sharing the best ways to for visitors to fill their day with everything Wellington.

Each shift can be up to 4 hours long, and you will receive training to give you best knowledge to help our visitors.

This role will be perfect for:

• Someone who is civic-minded and wants to give back to the city.
• A people person. Someone who loves to chat to anyone.
• A retiree who has time and wants to connect with people.
• A student who is looking to get into the tourism industry and wants to see what is on offer.
• Someone who speaks other languages and wants to use them again! This is your chance to shine.
