The objective of the Manawa Karioi Ecological Restoration project is to re-establish a thriving native forest on hills in Island Bay that are part of the Tapu-te-Ranga marae. Manawa Karioi has a good network of tracks and is a place that members of the public are encouraged to visit, engage with nature, and enjoy. We are looking for someone to inspect facilities at the Manawa Karioi Ecological Restoration project at least once every 6 months and report any maintenance or repairs needed to the Chair of the Manawa Karioi Society. Undertake repairs and maintenance (optional). The facilities are: signage, picnic table, seats, weta hotels, metal birds, doggy doo bag dispenser, tracks including drainage, Information Shelter. Your work around the tracks, signage and other facilities will encourage more people to come to Manawa Karioi and those who do come will be better able to appreciate the beauty of the place, develop their relationship with nature and enhance their own wellbeing.
