Inspire Girls in Your Community - Leader (of Pippins, Brownies, Guides or Rangers Units)

GirlGuiding NZ is a non-profit organisation where girls can be girls, where they will discover their passions, contribute to their communities and form friendships in a safe and positive environment. They offer a non-competitive learning environment which is open-minded and values-based. It’s a supportive place to grow confident, adventurous girls who are ready to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Their mission is to empower girls to take action to change their world; they do this by using fun, adventure and friendship to build their confidence and life skills.

GirlGuiding NZ are looking for fun, energetic leaders that will plan and deliver diverse, stimulating and challenging programmes to girls once a week (during term times). Volunteers are needed to run the weekly unit sessions for girls to earn badges from each age group: Pippins: 5-7 year olds Brownies: 7-9.5 year olds Guides: 9.5-12.5 year olds Rangers: 12.5-17 year olds

Units meet for up to 2 hours once a week during the school terms, with opportunities for other planned activities on the occasional weekend. Each area locations meet on different nights and times. Training will be provided on how to run a unit and how to plan for a unit meeting. There is also additional training available for things such as camping.

Role includes:

Planning for the term Delivering activities to cover the badges that the girls are working on Including the girls in the planning of activities Finance and budget planning Record keeping Liaise with team members and families

Volunteers have the opportunity to meet new people and become part of a worldwide network. In return, GGNZ will provide opportunities for you to play to your strengths and support you to make a real difference in your local community by empowering young girls to reach their full potential.
