GIS DUTIES: -Technical mapping of our wetlands and the activities of weeding and planting of native trees

  • Creating of dashboards to help analyse data
  • Mapping of future projects including native seed foraging positions on the island, etc.
  • Meeting with on the ground staff to translate what is happening to movement over time on a map
  • Producing high-quality professional maps and integrate those into our reporting structure
  • Updating Esri apps and databases
  • Integrating staff into use of Esri apps.


  • Assist in running a coordinated Ecostore campaign on site; manage stock, do inventory, customers and social media to further the campaign reach
  • Aid project leads with day-to-day office work
  • Participate in the weekly Tuesday wetland restoration sessions with LOWW, which focus on weed removal and the planting of native trees in some of New Zealand’s most important and beautiful wetlands
  • Participate in the weekly compost processing and maintenance sessions with the Compost Co., collecting the compostable waste of local businesses and transforming it into high-nutrient compost
  • Participate in and help run the weekly Friday Kai Conscious Café events through food prep and donation gathering. This café feeds 60-100 people every week
  • Participate in and help run Zero Waste events. These are held on weekends and will be scheduled with time given in lieu
  • Participate in and help run all other intermittent weekend events for projects with time provided in lieu
  • Run an initiative based on your experience and skills in line with our vision, goals, and aims
  • General Sustainability Centre maintenance and organisation, including the community garden
  • General administration and social media duties as neede
