We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, good with numbers and able to follow clear procedures. Our treasurer is responsible for tracking the income and expenditure of the group’s finances. A typical month would involve processing or facilitating 2 or three transactions, and recording income and expenditure. It would also involve preparing a monthly report and presenting that report at a monthly committee meeting. Annually, you would be expected to work with our accountant to prepare and submit an annual report. No search and rescue background or experience is necessary. Experience in finance for a small entity is advantageous, as would experience with a charity and/or incorporated society. Knowledge of Xero is preferred. If you have you own computer, great. If not, one can be provided. There is no operational or on call component for this role. You do not need to respond to a search and rescue operation. It is purely administrative. However, if you are interested in providing more support to the group, you would also be welcome to volunteer for other roles such as incident management, administration or field teams.
