For over twenty years we have been growing new and emerging Māori writers through our flagship programmes, the Pikihuia Awards - a writing competition and Te Papa Tupu - a writers incubator. We purposefully promote and foster Māori literature and its place in the literature of Aotearoa.

As our Social Media specialist, you will leverage our existing platforms to grow reach and engagement, raise the profile of Māori writers and amplify the reputation of the Trust.

We will be asking you to:

  1. Draft, curate and publish engaging content for all platforms

  2. Monitor social media for trends in the literary sector and more broadly in te ao Māori

  3. Interact with writers, fans, friends and partners and respond to social media messages and comments

  4. Review analytics and present weekly reports on key metrics

  5. Contribute to the development of a social media marketing strategy

You will bring:

  • An advanced knowledge of popular social media platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organisation skills - a finetuned ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • A keen interest in Māori literature
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Wordpress, Elementor, MailChimp
  • Bachelor’s degree or undertaking tertiary study in marketing or related field of study
  • Optimism!
