Are you an op shopper extraordinaire, with an eye for a great bargain and a heart for supporting charities? This hospice organisation relies on its retail shops as a major fundraiser, and it currently has vacancies for volunteers to join op-shop teams in stores across Wellington: Tawa, Cuba St, Miramar, Thorndon and Newlands. The volunteer retail assistant role involves preparing and selling goods donated to our shops so that valuable funding is provided. Tasks include accurately processing all sales through the EFTPOS / cash register, assisting to help create window and visual merchandising displays and ensuring the shop space is easy to navigate and is free of hazards. The role also involves pricing, sorting and preparing donated goods to sell, assisting with general housekeeping and cleanliness of the shop and supporting promotional activities with the store as required e.g. events, sales.
