Otanewainuku - Salted Rabbits Processing/Cat Trapping Team

Volunteering Bay of Plenty

The Ōtanewainuku Kiwi Trust first formed in 2002 to preserve our taonga (treasure) of native species for generations to come and reverse the decline of the population of North Island Brown Kiwi in the Ōtanewainuku Forest.

The Trust requires help with processing the rabbit for the stoat & ferret traps (includes chopping up dead rabbits). This then forms the bait that trappers use when maintaining their traplines and baiting the stations.
