We are currently recruiting for a new volunteer Chairperson. As the Chair, you will provide inspirational leadership to the board, staff and volunteers to ensure we continue to service wider NZ communities. You will support board members to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance, strategic direction and performance. You will lead with integrity, tact and diplomacy and champion both our brand and the work of our valued volunteers. The average time required per month for this role is approximately 15 hours. The Board meets once per month and from time to time you will be required to attend and represent the charity at events, meetings or functions in the day and evening times. Main responsibilities include : Chair and guide the governance function of the collective : Liaise regularly with the Treasurer to maintain a clear grasp of our financial position : Oversee the development of the strategy and annual business plan : Receive regular progress reports : Ensure compliance : Lead the development of a constituency of support for the organisation at highest levels of business, Government and the donor community : Champion our brand and reputation : Build an appropriate infrastructure and capability : Ensure a clear policy framework (including delegations) is in operation : Maintain careful oversight of any risk to the reputation and/or financial/ legal standing of the organisation : Review and appraise the performance of the board and staff : Provide support coaching and mentoring as required : Provide leadership in marketing and fundraising. This position is not remunerated but reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred fulfilling the duties of the role can be reimbursed.
