This respected Wellington budgeting organisation is looking for a very reliable person with good communication skills, strong oral and written English, an awareness of professional boundaries and an interest in helping people from a range of backgrounds, who also have complex financial problems. This is a small but busy budgeting service that works with a wide range of people largely from Newtown and surrounding areas. We need people to meet walk-in clients or receive phone calls from clients who want budgeting assistance. To obtain their contact details and advise them of available bookings and what they need to bring to the appointment. To book appointments with advisers when appropriate. To take phone messages when the service is busy. The role can also involve some advocacy support such as helping people to contact agencies for assistance, particularly if they have a current emergency. From time to time it could include accompanying them to an appointment with Work and Income. We require multiple volunteers.
