Would you like to use your amazing job hunting skills to help a skilled migrant or refugee job seeker from a non-English speaking background find employment? By becoming a Job Mentor with this Wellington-based organisation you would use your skills to offer support and advice and information on how to be an effective job seeker, how to go about looking for work in Wellington, how to apply for jobs, how to write an effective CV, how to prepare for an interview and how to build networks and break into the employment field. Training is provided and mentors are then matched one-to-one with a registered migrant job seeker from a non-English speaking background. You would have regular contact with your job seeker and meet every 1-2 weeks and work through a plan of action towards employment. There are also monthly networking events to get together and share skills and ideas.
