About this opportunity

We are seeking volunteers to help our visitors in our Museum galleries. This involves a minimum of 3 hours once a week or fortnight, either in the morning (10am- 1pm) or the afternoon (1pm - 4pm). A commitment of 3 months (or more) is required.

There is a wide range of tasks for Hosts such as being helpful in our temporary exhibition space, assisting visitors with finding their way around the galleries, assisting visitors with information, assisting Tour Guides with opening doors, pointing out where the toilets are and helping out with life jackets for the sailing tours.

Volunteers play an incredibly important part in bringing the Museum experience alive for our visitors, and our volunteers are greatly appreciated by the Museum staff. The volunteers enjoy interacting with the museum team, socialising as a group, and meeting visitors from all over the world.

Alternatively, volunteer applications can also be picked up from the front desk of the Museum. If you are in town, you are welcome to come on one of the tours we offer at 10:30 or 1:30 and experience the museum first hand.
