About this opportunity
We are looking for some fantastic event volunteers to help us with our Haunted Hogwarts event in Wellington (at the old Fever hospital). The event is a family friendly event that seeks to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Society of NZ.
We need people to take tickets, man sausage stands, set up and take down equipment, and generally be wonderful people. People who want more responsibility may be able to implement new fundraising ideas and if you have any specialist skills, such as photography, please let us know. We need volunteers from October 29th to October 31st (all or part).
For most volunteers, it will simply involve turning up at the event at an agreed time and helping out. Different people will be able to commit more or less time to this event, and we can accommodate that. If people can't do a whole day, we may be able to arrange shifts, so don't be discouraged from applying.
29th: Set Up (approx midday to 3pm)
30th: Help with shows from 6pm to 10.30pm.
31st: Shows from 6pm to 10pm, takedown until midnight.
For those who want to be more involved in the planning side, we can speak to you on a case by case basis (the main event is already planned, but we're interested in adding new fundraising ideas). You can choose your own hours if you choose to help in this way.
We're also looking to build a network of volunteers across the country, particularly in major urban centres such as Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. If you'd like to volunteer with us in the future (optional), this would be a great opportunity for us to get to know each other.
The event should be a lot of fun and there'll be other volunteers working alongside you. If you'd like to give back to your local community whilst participating in an enjoyable event, we'd like to hear from you.
We may ask that volunteers fill out a criminal record check form online prior to the event, so please contact us early so we can get this processed in time.
