Conference assistant (voluntary)

Community Service Event Volunteering Wellington Accessible

About this opportunity

Just Action 2019 is The Salvation Army Social Policy and Parliamentary Unit’s flagship biennial gathering happening in Wellington Tue 1 to Wed 2 Oct 2019.

Just Action provides a thought space for reflection, education, skills-development, relationship-building and, above all, inspiration, so that we can continue to participate in the urgent work of social justice in the world.

As an unpaid volunteering position, these multiple positions offer you the chance to help ensure a smooth conference, giving you valuable skills in event organising and project management. You will provide support in logistics, guest registration, problem-solvers, or as meeters-greeters-networkers.

While past event management involvement is desirable, you don’t have to have experience to come on board as you will work under the direction of an experienced conference organiser.

The Salvation Army is a Christian church but you don’t have to be a Christian to join us, just an open heart and mind and being comfortable in a Christian social justice space.

Meals will be provided as well as a transport subsidy to and from the venue and a free ticket to attend the conference sessions. Ideally, you will live within public transport access of Wellington city as we are unable to provide accommodation or long distance travel.

Age: 18 and over.

Join us to support our work in social justice, gain or enhance valuable skills, and make new friends in the social justice community!
