About SCOUTS New Zealand
SCOUTS New Zealand help over 15,000 young kiwis to enjoy new adventures, experience the outdoors, interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We offer 6 to 26 year old girls and boys fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, the chance to help others and have a positive impact in more than 400 communities, inspired and supported by over 5,000 trained and accredited adult volunteers.
We do still camp. We do still cook on open fires. And we do still tie knots. But 21st century Scouting is about so much more than that. Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. Through our activity programme, events and schools like our flying, caving, photography, canoeing, mountaineering and snow schools, Scouts develop skills like teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment.
Scouting is already having a fantastic impact on the young people we are reaching, but we want to bring the benefits to even more. By volunteering with SCOUTS, you will help us to bring fun, challenge and adventure to all young kiwis, wherever they are.
