Youth Arts New Zealand (YANZ) is Aotearoa’s only youth-led organisation generating equitable opportunities for rangatahi to explore creativity both as a viable career and as a means of self-expression. We run initiatives that range from Te Kāhui - our creative writing in corrections programme for rangatahi inmates - to paid creative work opportunities, development/educational programme and community internships. Since our founding in 2017, our youth-led team have run 160+ impactful events and projects, provided creative experiences for over 430 rangatahi across Aotearoa, and distributed over $136,000 in artist fees to young creatives through our initiatives.
