About Friends of Floyds

Friends of Floyds is an Art and Craft Workshop, where people who might have a disability come along to our base at the Hohepa Centre's hall on Monday morning, to do Art, Sewing, Craft, Socialise, and have a hot drink if they want to. We charge $5.00 per person, this covers the hire of the hall and the hot drink. Most of the materials used are donated, so except for the stuffing for cushions we don't charge people for the things that they make. There are three people working at Friends of Floyds and we are all volunteers. We have Margaret as our Administrator, Margaret puts in the GST returns and sends a monthly account to an organization that send their people to us. We have materials that could provide other activities, such as Leather Work. The volunteer must be very patient, kind and a good listener. They will have knowledge of some basic crafts such as knitting, rug making and above mentioned Leather Work. We stay open during the school holidays and close over Christmas, New Year through January.
