We a a user focused organisation that exists to provide blind and low vision New Zealanders with the opportunity to enjoy the amazing sport of sailing in both recreational and competitive contexts. The sport was developed in New Zealand and has grown over the years internationally and for many years Blind Sailing International has held regular world championships in different countries. Some being Japan,Chicago, England, New Zealand and many more.For people with vision loss sailing provides a tangible and intangible sensation where they take the wheel and drive so to speak. It is an opportunity to break barriers, gain confidence and build self esteem in a community of like minded individuals.
